| Krabi
provides a perfect environment for gentle kayaking. A coastline composed of small
coves, caves and islands, an interior with rivers lined with fascinating cave
systems. Like neighbouring Phang Nga Bay, Krabi has the strange limestone
scenery which contains "rooms" or "hongs"" - the remains
of collapsed caverns, weathered and eroded over time. Many of the hongs, which
reveal hidden interior lagoons and wonderful cave systems, can only be accessed
through at low tide through an opening in the rock face. Kayaking provides
a perfect way to explore these unique places, allowing quiet access to some of
these very special places. Eco-tours operate throughout the area,
along the Ao Nang coast, Ko Hong, and the Bokkharani National Park. Tour
leaders are often multi-lingual, experienced, environmentally aware and knowledgeable
about the local area. Most discourage touching, eating, smoking and the removal
of shells or natural items for souvenirs. Numbers are limited in order to maintain
a "low impact, high quality" operation. Prices vary with the season
from 1200 Baht (May to October) to around 1500 Baht (November to April) For
